Three guys living on a boat, the Riptide, are working as detectives in King Harbor, California.  For their support they have a speedboat, the Ebbtide, an aging,

J.L. Fatman McCabe is a tough district attorney in Southern California,
Jake Styles is his special investigator, and Derek Mitchell his assistant D.A.

 

After the first season, the whole team  switched over to Hawaii, but only
one year later they all came back to the mainland.
