	After the departure of Luise Lasser the series Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman came back with this new title, but lasted only for about one season.

	This series, based on the real lives of Bugsy Siegel and Lucky Luciano, - while the character of Lasker was a composite of several real persons - showed the development of organized crime in the States.

	Three guys living on a boat, the Riptide, are working as detectives in King Harbor, California. For their support they have a speedboat, the Ebbtide, an aging, pink helicopter, the Screaming Mimi, and a computerized robot, the Roboz.


	The series was created and produced by Stephen J. Cannell and Frank Lupo.

	J.L. Fatman McCabe is a tough district attorney in Southern California, Jake Styles is his special investigator, and Derek Mitchell his assistant D.A.
	After the first season, the whole team switched over to Hawaii, but only one year later they all came back to the mainland.
	This series was created and produced by Fred Silverman and Dean Hargrove.
